*Bumblebeeacres* Farm News & Updates! August 13, 2008 Thanks for joining us online, we are glad you are here! The following is an overall account of what is currently happening on our Farm. I am including links to various pages within this site that may be of further interest to you. Enjoy!
The garden We have't had a chance to update this page in quite awhile, we have been just extremely busy on the farm. The garden has been a challenge this year in weed control as well as bug control. Since we don't use any pesticides or herbicides the task of growing veggies can be a tough one. The Japanese beatles, cabbage worms and potato beatles have been relentless but through our continued hardwork we have gotten some wonderful crops. Lots of babies have been born on the farm this spring and summer; a lamb, a doeling goat, Havanese puppies, Sheltie puppies, Persian/Himalayan kittens,Peking and call ducklings, English Angora bunnies, and Lionhead bunnies. It is a fun and exciting time that the kids and I really enjoy, lamb snuggles and puppy breath, downy ducklings and purring kitties. Many of the babies have found homes already, but check the breed specific pages within this website (links at the bottom) to see if anything is still available that may interest you. Going to the Market... This Saturday we will be bringing squash, zucchini, cucumbers, beans, brocolli, carrots, beets, onions, garlic, greens (not much as we are in between crops---more in a few weeks) tomatoes, dill, mint and potted herbs. Elsa is planning on putting together some beautiful cut flower bouquets from our flower beds. We will also have an array of raw fiber for those interested in spinning, felting and the fiber arts. Soon we will have skeins and roving available at the market also, we are just waiting for the mill to give us a call to pick-up our stuff.

Woodstock Farmers' Market on the Historic Woodstock Square Where you will find us!
The new season has begun! Tuesday & Saturday 8am-1:00pm (please note change in length of market this year!!!) May thru October, rain or shine! The Woodstock Farmers' Market is special, it is a strictly enforced growers' market, so you can be assured that everything at the market is produced directly by the vendors/farmers themselves---this ensures that your produce is the freshest possible, and you can be pleased to know that you are supporting local farmers. This coming 2008 season Farmers' Market will be bigger and better than ever. Besides our farm there are vendors offering bread and pastries, perrenials, cheese, wine, honey, pasture raised beef, chicken and eggs, soap, jams, in season fruit, and a different featured craft/artisian most market days. Saturdays and Tuesdays are also a great time to visit the market as we have wonderful Musicians come to enhance your market experience.
